March 30, 2001, Newsletter Issue #13: Language Arts: Can You Pass the Test?

Tip of the Week

State-wide tests can determine whether you pass or fail to the next grade. To make sure that you stay on grade level and do well, try these ideas:

1. Know what standards or learning goals are set for your grade.
2. Practice the skills that are listed for your grade level.
3. Practice your grade level word list.
4. Read, read, read.
5. Write, write, write.
6. Listen to people who speak well and mimic their sentences and vocabulary.

Be one of the students who passes the state test. Make it easier on yourself and your school by being ready.
