How can I help my child with homework?

Provide Guidance, not answers

When your child asks for help, provide guidance, not answers. Giving answers means your child will not learn the material. Too much help teaches your child that when the going gets rouch, someone will do the work for him.

Thank you! Not only do students learn that someone will do the work for them, they also never learn the skills they need to learn newer, harder material. They will do whatever it takes to do the least amount of work in these cases and it can set students back several grade levels.

Great post!
